Hemp blocks are an innovative and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional building materials. They are made of hemp, a binder based on lime and water, forming a lightweight construction material, breathable and with a high insulating power.
How are hemp blocks made?
The production process is simple, natural and efficient:
1.Cut of the hemp: The core is separated from the stem of the hemp and cut according to the required dimensions. 2. Mixing of ingredients: Lime and water are mixed until a homogeneous texture is obtained. 3. Moulding and curing: The blocks are naturally dried. During this process, the lime hardens by reacting with the CO2 in the air, in a process called carbonation.
Where can Hemp Blocks be used?
These blocks are ideal for:
Insulation of walls, ceilings and floors Ecological rehabilitation of old buildings Sustainable housing projects and passive construction
